Questions, answered
What counts against my monthly allowance?
Each piece of work Nell does — reading and ranking mail during sync, drafting a reply, answering a question. Small actions cost little; most members use less than half their allowance. You can watch your usage day by day in Settings.
What happens if I use it all?
No cliff. Nell shifts to simpler responses — mail keeps syncing and briefings keep arriving. Top up for instant full power, or wait for your renewal. We warn you at 80% so it's never a surprise.
Do I need my own AI account or API key?
No. The subscription covers the AI itself — we choose and pay for the models. One bill, no keys, nothing to configure.
Can Nell send email without me knowing?
No. Every outbound email sits in an approval queue until you say yes. You can edit or reject any draft. That's a hard rule in the product, not a setting.
Which email and calendar providers work?
Gmail and Google Calendar, Outlook and Microsoft 365, iCloud calendar (CalDAV), and any IMAP mailbox. Plans differ in how many accounts you can connect.
How does the free trial work?
14 days on the Assistant plan with a starter allowance. Card up front, charged only when the trial ends — cancel any time before and you pay nothing.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Any time, from Settings. Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades at your next renewal. Cancelling keeps your data for 30 days in case you come back — and you can export everything whenever you like.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your mail and calendar are processed to do your work and nothing else. Your vault is yours — exportable, deletable, never a training set.
